Description
The Helmeted Curassow, or Northern Helmeted Curassow (Pauxi pauxi), is native to northern South America. It is a large bird in fly tying terms; its wing and tail feathers feature exceptional fiber length, making them a perfect choice for married wings on classic salmon flies or sweeping wings on Spey and Dee flies.
The rump feathers are extremely soft—almost like turkey marabou—while the neck offers a great selection of smaller feathers ideal for hackles
