Description
Lady Amhersts Pheasant, one of the most iconic and revered birds in the history of fly tying. First introduced to England in the early 19th century by Sarah Countess Amherst—after whom the species is named—this exotic pheasant soon became a cornerstone in the creation of Victorian salmon flies, those elaborate and flamboyant works of art immortalized in texts like Kelson’s “The Salmon Fly” (1895) and Pryce-Tannatt’s classic manual (1914).
