Description

Muskrat underfur is a classic dubbing material that has been used for generations, most famously on the Adams dry fly.
Its fine, slightly water-repellent fibers make it ideal for both dry flies and nymphs, giving patterns a natural look and texture that’s hard to beat.
A patch of muskrat fur like this is also famously used in Polly Rosborough’s Casual Dress Nymph, where the fur—complete with guard hairs—is incorporated into the body. Muskrat fur can even be used for hair hackles, making it a true staple for traditional fly tiers.
